Working at Mercy Hospital Fairfield, the Surgical Assistant will assist the surgeon during surgical procedures at the direction of the surgeon. Functions as a member of the surgical team in room preparation, turnover, and facilitation of the daily surgery schedule. Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology relating to surgical procedures. Responsible for maintaining a visible, working surgical field, and under the direction of the surgeon, ties, cuts and sutures tissue procedures.

Requirements: Graduate of a Surgical Assistant program, or equivalent experience as a surgical technologist with special training to function in the SA role or RNFA. At least 2 year of experience in an ASC or acute care surgical environment. On call commitment (30 minute call response time) with some holiday and weekends.
