WELCOME MESSAGE
Dear friends and colleagues,
th
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the National Surgical Assistant Association’s 35 General
Meeting & National Conference. I am confident that this year’s conference will provide a wide spectrum
of thought-provoking topics that are sure to engage, inform, and inspire surgical assistants at every level
of practice.
Our progress has been astounding in the past few years. Our membership has greatly expanded, state
chapters are developing, and ideas formed through the National Registry of Surgical Assistants have
resulted in successful collaborative work. Most importantly, the nation’s attention is now focused on
healthcare. This gives us an opportunity to make great strides toward the goals of the profession.
This year, another exciting program awaits you! A multi-disciplinary panel of speakers will be covering a
wide range of topics of surgical procedures. The Round Table on Current Issues and Trends, held on
Saturday afternoon will feature experts in Money Management, Billing and Reimbursement, and a very
informational training session on becoming a Surgical Assisting Program Preceptor.
To our sponsors, exhibitors, and valued attendees from previous Conferences, I extend a warm welcome
back and thank you for your continuing support of the Association. I would also like to welcome our
first-time attendees and look forward to building a strong relationship with you.
As always, I look forward to meeting you during the conference. I hope that this forum will not only
provide you with updates on current issues in our healthcare profession, but also present opportunities
for you to network with colleagues, as we work together to embrace the challenges bridging the gap
with other surgical assisting associations.
